MHS Soccer Coach Jim PostPublish Date: 2007-09-18 The McPherson Optimist Club welcomed MHS Soccer Coach, Jim Post on Tuesday, 9-11-07 as the guest speaker. Coach Post noted that this was a year of “First” for the Bullpup Soccer Team. First year they have ever had 46 or more players, first year to be able to field a “C” squad and with that “C” squad it will also be the first year to host a “C” tournament.
Coach Post brought with him three senior players, Aaron Frasier, Luke Buller and Caleb Warren. Coach also noted that this is the first time Caleb was up before 7:00AM.
The Pups start their season with 4 wins and no loses and are fresh off a home hosted tournament championship. Wins for the Pups have been against Ark City, Elyria, Hays and Buhler. Pups travel to Campus tonight and then Newton on the 13th. The much anticipated match up between Maize High and the Pups will be Tuesday the 18th in McPherson.
The Bullpups are looking forward to a great season with some good match ups and hold high hopes of being able to participate in the State tournament which will be held in McPherson this year.
Lastly, Coach was very appreciative of the folks that make up a successful program. First noting that the kids and parents are a major part of their success. The Strikers program also plays a major roll in their success and finally support from organizations such as the McPherson Optimist Club.
