Gift Program Fund Raiser a big hit!

The McPherson American Legion named our Gift Program as their partner in their monthly family night for November. Over 350 people attended the event, which had a menu of a hamburger, fries and a drink along with a dessert made and donated by the Optimist club members. The Optimists bought tickets, sold tickets, made desserts, served drinks, cleared tables and helped clean up afterwards. Our president, Rick Stein, donated 4 tickets to K-State Basketball game which were given away to two lucky winners. The fund raiser at the American Legion on Thursday, November 17, generate over $750 for the Optimist club's Gift program! Although no exact count was taken, it is estimated that between 35 and 40 members of our club members attended the event. Here are a few photos of the members who were there. In addition to those shown, many others arrived earlier in the evening to bring desserts or to help out in other ways. In addition to raising funds, it was a lot of fun and we saw some members who haven't been to a meeting for a while. Great job folks!
